I heard about Christopher’s unexpected death and have been heart-broken ever since. It is not exaggerating to say he changed my life. Music and singing are so important to my sense of self and well being. I have worked (as a very amateur and inadequate singer) with many many conductors since childhood. Christopher was incomparable -unique in his selflessness, his leadership, his generosity, his musical talent, his discipline, his humour, his sense of community and so much more.

I did at the time of meeting him feel how very lucky I was to live in this wonderful place AND be able to work with someone like him. And of course all thanks to the inspirational Yorke Trust!

I was fascinated by him and where these unique talents might take him, which I thought I would witness into my dotage. What a deprivation for all to have him snatched away so much too soon

And not only mourning him but also working on Jeptha with him now. Much too much grief at the moment
